Perspective… I expect that you see the front end of a snowmobile. My dog stood in front of this machine for a long time barking at this unblinking monster that was not afraid of him nor interested in being his friend. I tried to explain but, no doing!

You will find Perspective on the Never Forever album

Perspective

The notion that we all see things from our own unique and biased perspective was rolling around in my head one day so, it got this song. It was one of the 2020 Pandemic Sequestering days, I guess. It is one of the eclectic songs. Strange ending!

Perspective

C#m                G#m               A                     E
When I was just a baby lounging on my flannel cover
C#m                G#m               A                     G#m
“Ah look, he’s smiling,” said my proud, darling Mother
E                     G#                   A                     B
And she danced her happy dance to celebrate my advance
Em      G         A         Am      B                     B7
But I was grimacing intensely ‘cause I was pooping into my pants
D                     G#m               E7                   G#       G#7

Perspective, perspective

When I was a boy, sunny days made the year
Now such days are precious since grey skies are always near
A century was a concept for describing historical time.
But n ow, this century‘s been compressed into this one life of mine.

Perspective, perspective

Presidents and athletes: all strangers who rise then fall
Most of them are forgotten. I have no recollection at all
But, if I watch my child suffer and cry with cancer
For this pain, there is no answer

Perspective, perspective

Instrumental Verse

Perspective, perspective

No one sits behind my eyes but me
No one can see things as I can see
No one lives inside my mind but me
There is no reason why you and I will always agree

Perspective, perspective

E                     G#m               E7                   A         Am
I am the memories that I have made. Nothing more
B7                   E                     C#m               A         B
I know that what I know is just perspective. Nothing for sure
C#m   Eaug  B         B7       E                     E
And all I’ll need from you in the end, my friend
C#m               A                     B7                   E
Is hear you say, “That was fun, please come again!”

I knew a girl who never sought nor granted any permission
The dance she loved swishing was just her rendition
Of her life of tradition, omission and transition
A rather lovely, soft heartfelt admission
