i can see by your cape (that you are dressed like superman)

This is how Giselle sees me (she said!). She made this up. I went along with it. I’m not Stupid!

There are a few completely nonsensical expressions that rattle around in my head. Lucky for you, I made them into a song. None of this makes sense so don’t try!

But, the title has a source. For many years I lived in and around Ketchum, Idaho. Ketchum has a vibrant arts and theatre community - at least for being a tiny wester, US tourist town. Every year (maybe), there is a play offered there called: “I Can See by Your Outfit that You are a Cowboy.”

Now, there are real cowboys are there are Ketchum Wannabes so I have for years offered an altered title for the play: “I Can See by Your Outfit that You are Dressed Like a Cowboy.”

I Can See by Your Cape
(that You are Dressed like Superman)

E x8

E                                 Am
I can see by your outfit
E                                             Am
that you’re not dressed like a cowboy

            F                      Dm
And I see by the cape on your back,
            G                                 Am
that you are dressed like Superman

I remember everything that I’ve not forgotten
I‘ve seen everywhere that I have looked upon
I have done everything - everything that I did

I’m sure of everything that I never doubt.
I was there with you every time we were together
I would not be me if I was somebody else

 C                     Am                  F                                  Dm
I don’t know why I bother thinking of anything but you
G         Am                              Dm                  E
I can’t create a rational thought except: I love you

I feel a whole more like I do now than I did before
I get everything wrong except when I’m right.
