She is the Point. Should you all be so lucky as I am

It should be no surprise to you that this song is on the album: What’s the Point?

What’s the Point? (You)

I have been around long enough to see a lot of the World and watch Humanity do its thing. I’m not impressed with us. I express this sentiment in more that a few songs. But, there has to be a joy to life somewhere to keep us from becoming deeply suicidal and other nasty things. What is it? For me, its the person(s) I love.

This song laments the state of humanity, asks the question and gives you my answer.

Am                  F7
Have you seen the news?
Am                  F7
Just disaster and pain
Cdim                            B7
Same old, same old for you to see
E7                                E7
And, there’s nothing about me

Have you seen the sky?
Maybe rain, maybe hot
Same old, same old is so likely
But it won’t change me          C

Am                   F                      G
Stars come and go, Galaxies float in a dance
C                      Am                   Dm                  G
People love and lie, Some by plan, some by chance
                       E7
What’s the point?

Have you seen the future?
Would you believe if you did?
The past fades into mystery
And shapes our delusive history

Instrumental Verse

Stars come and go. Galaxies float in a dance
People love and lie. Some by plan, some by chance
What’s the point?

Let the universe churn
Let human dignity burn
I’ll endure this ridiculous joint
Because time with you is the point

I remember the first time I ever saw your face
F#m E A
Beautiful, clever, humble and funny
Dmaj7 D Bm
And I knew you’d make every day sunny

I remember the first time I ever farted
Beautiful, loud, stinky and funny
You crinkled your nose like an offended bunny

I remember the last time you surprised me
It was lovely, funny and oh so simple
About the Pauli Exclusion Principle

I can’t wait for the next time I see your face
A hug, a kiss, a smile “what’s for dinner?”
Two kids in love, a Saint and a Sinner
