Lazy Bum

Ah… not a rant! I guess I was in a lazy mode one day and I wrote this.

E                      A                      E         A          E          A
E                                  A
Well, I think I’ll get a hammock to string between two trees
            E                                  A
I’ll pour my body in there and do just  as I please.
            E                                  A
I’ll fade into the forest and rest against a giant tree
            B                                              B7
To contemplate a million things and what they mean to me

I’m gunna get a big easy chair and put it outside on the grass
I’ll lay back in the sunshine and rest my lazy ... mind
As you can imagine, I am relaxed but in despair
The World is a useless place except that you are there

But, please don’t wake me up if you find me
And don’t poke me with a stick to check if I’m alive
Just walk away smiling and please never mind me
We’ll talk tomorrow assuming I revive.

E                                         E7
Some days, I’m just a lazy bum
               A                                           B
But, I’m darn sure I’m not the only one
C#m                             F#
Have I said today that I love you?
B7                                E
I smile every time I think of you.

Instrumental verse

Let’s float down the river and watch life pass by on the shore
Enjoy it while we see it. We won’t be by here anymore.
They say nothing lasts forever. There’s no such thing as never
That’s crazy talk because, I am going to love you forever
