Here, wear this. That fixes everything.
This old tuna mine is found on the “that guy” album and
can be heard on YouTube and as the National Anthem of Calopoirma Peninsula.
That Fixes Everything
This one is interesting… I first wrote the lyrics and built the song in November 2015… 10+ years ago and one year into this whole music adventure. In 2018, 2+ years later when I gathered the songs I had and packaged them into albums, this song never made the cut. When I look at and listen to the Garageband file, I see there is no drum track and I followed no ‘measures’ guidance. I hadn’t figured those things out yet. And, the harmonizing was sloppy.
So, ‘today’, I redid the effort to see if I could get it right. I changed a few chords for colour and improved a few words. This is the result.
G C G C
I love the sunlight in your hair
G C G C
I love the lightning in your eyes
G C9
Love you sleeping, love you singing
G Am7 D D
Come and sit here under sunny skies
I love the contours of your face
I love the knowing in your smile
Love your wisdom, love your soul
Please come and sit with me a while
Am Am D7 G Em
You are magic to my hungry soul
Am Bm7 C D Dsus 4
Hold my hand. That fixes everything
I would love to have a great big dog
I would love to go and see your Mom
I’ll make dinner. I’ll bring flowers
Please always kiss me slow and long
I love to hear you laugh real loud
I love it when you think I’m wise
I can be stupid, can be jackass
I am humbled ‘cause you realize
I am magic for your hungry soul
Hold my face. That fixes everything
Instrumental Verse
Some things just seem meant to be
Two people like a pair of gloves
I am left hand, you are right hand
Not must use without the other’s love
We are magic. Two happy souls
We say I love you. That fixes everything.
